Foxleigh is an open cut, truck and excavator operation, producing premium low volatile PCI coal. Located in the Bowen Basin of central Queensland, Foxleigh currently produces approximately 3 Mt of premium PCI metallurgical coal.
Our coal is transported by rail to Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal near Mackay, then shipped to our international customers.

Who is Qmetco
QMetco is a premium PCI metallurgical coal producer, operating the Foxleigh coal mine near Middlemount in central Queensland’s Bowen Basin, which is the world’s dominant seaborne metallurgical coal producing region.
QMetco Limited is an unlisted public company, formerly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:RRP) until it was delisted on 15th January 2019 following the successful aquisition of 100% of the issued shares by Taurus Resources investment funds.
QMetco has an experienced management team with a history of working with quality partners and long-term customers, particularly in the Asian steel mill sector.
QMetco acquired the Foxleigh Mine in August 2016 via its100% ownership of Middlemount South Pty Ltd (Middlemount South), which operates Foxleigh on behalf of the Foxleigh Coal Joint Venture. Joint Venture partners in the Foxleigh Mine are POSCO Australia Pty Ltd (20%) and Nippon Steel Australia Pty. Limited (10%).
Foxleigh is a long-life asset (>10 years) generating strong cash flows with resource expansion opportunities if additional resources are found in the Company’s extensive exploration tenement package proximate to the Foxleigh Mine.
